CEEQUAL
The Civil Engineering Environmental Quality Assessment and Award Scheme
CEEQUAL awards assess the environmental quality of civil engineering projects and recognize the achievement of high environmental performance.
Ambient has experienced trained CEEQUAL assessors who will assist design teams in achieving the highest potential CEEQUAL rating achievable for their scheme.
CEEQUAL:
- provides an effective design tool for design teams to improve the environmental performance of their design
- demonstrates the commitment of the civil engineering industry to environmental quality
- promotes improved environmental performance in project specification, design and construction
- assesses performance against areas of environmental concern
- provides a benchmark standard for environmental performance
Achieving an award
CEEQUAL awards are given to projects that have been assessed against detailed and specific environmental criteria. They are applicable to civil engineering projects of any size or description.
CEEQUAL is based on a self assessment, undertaken by a trained CEEQUAL assessor. Ambient will review the scheme against the CEEQUAL assessment criteria in order to tailor the criteria to reflect the nature of the scheme. We will then provide guidance and advice to the design team to maximize the potential rating. Ambient will then gather the supporting information, complete the required documentation and submit the scheme for the CEEQUAL award.
In order to maximize the potential rating a specific scheme could achieve, it is recommended that an application for a CEEQUAL assessment is taken as early as possible. This approach will ensure that decisions taken early on will not have a detrimental effect on the potential rating.
